Bye Bye Beemer

So. Ross is in possession of a new bike, but how was this accomplished?

He test drove this one, that one, scratched his arse, counted his pennies, went round the internet several times, fannied about. The foreplay was protracted. At the showroom, Ross was nearing the climax (of the deal) with Morna urging him to shake on it, but alas he found his wallet was empty. In comes Morna, ever ready, with the required credit card. A giant Triumph Explorer was purchased. It is much more sympathetic to the pillion (in places where pillions need sympathy), than the BMW.

Brief history and minor update

Right then, its that time for creating a blog.

This year the plan changes considerably, the usual format is  meet in Plymouth on a Sunday then get on the Santander ferry and drink too much beer. This is followed up by disembarking at Santander then going round the roundabouts the wrong way for a while, cursing at the satnav units which are misbehaving then arriving at the initial destination and drinking more beer. This pattern is repeated for a fortnight where much beer and food is consumed, much nonsense talked and a general good time is had.

On this trip the result is highly likely to be the same just the initial meet up point will be in Europe as Ross and Morna head from Newcastle to Amsterdam and Colin, Margaret, John and Prue head from Harwich and arrive at Hook of Holland.

What could possibly go wrong, well given our track record probably quite a lot!
John may well get into trouble from Prue if he tries sticking his finger in a dyke.
Anyone using the word pants in this blog will be on an automatic beer fine of 1 round per pants.

For a start there is new motorcycle hardware to contend with. John who has purchased a spaghettimobile in the form of a Moto Guzzi, Colin hasn't declared his hand from his stable of machinery but seems to be talking about pressing into service one of his old pasta crunching Guzzis and.. I will be buying something new.. either a Triumph Tiger Explorer or the new BMW R1200GS which no doubt will be the only break down.
Update 27/6.... my new steel horse is a blue Triumph Tiger Explorer which I pick up in a fortnight. Just need to sell the Beemer then buy some new luggage and accessories then I'm good to go.
In other news it appears JB's spaghettimobile has run out of pasta sauce already...  clutch and gearbox issue. Oh dear!

The trip will involve heading south through Europe as far as Slovenia  then heading west into Italy and picking up a train from Livorno back to Hergenbosch (Amsterdam).

No formal route planned as yet but hopefully a city break in Vienna for those that fancy it is all that is vaguely in the vague plan of intent. Oh... and some place called Ljubliana.

Watch this space..
